I learn something everyday, and I am so grateful that I am open to new lessons to be learned.  We had a contractor come do some work.  The work was set up for 9:00-9:30a.m.   After 9:30a.m., when the installer had not yet arrived, I texted him and he replied,

“I’ll be there shortly.”

After 11:00a.m., after almost 2 hours waiting, I texted the contractor again, this time he mentioned he was on his way.

I did not realize that when a contractor says, “I’ll be there shortly…”

What he meant was, “I’ll be there sometime today!”

To me, “I’ll be there shortly…” means “I’ll be there within the hour.”

Being a Life Long Learner…I learn something new all the time!
