1983 … 2022 Calendar Celebrating Our Anniversary

Today is our anniversary. Fun fact, the 1983 calendar (39 years ago) is the same calendar as 2022. We married on Friday, October 28th, 1983. Today, thirty-nine years later, our anniversary falls on Friday, October 28th, 2022.

We went to our favorite place. We had a very quiet table. When the server came over, he bought 2 glasses of complimentary champagne. We toasted our Anniversary and our blessings.

We had an eggplant appetizer and calamari appetizer that were both delicious! We were able to relax and enjoy the time together. The eggplant had a marinara sauce with spinach and the calamari had marinara as well as lemon.

We each ordered a pasta dish. My husband spaghetti and meatballs, and I chicken, farfalle with mushrooms and asparagus. We both could not eat any more, so most of our dinner came home!

Marriage is a commitment. That commitment requires both parties to stay committed through good and bad. It is easy to be committed when everything is great. Staying committed when things are rocky and uncertain, that’s where the magic happens. I feel like the times we really connected were when times were bad. Sounds weird…we had to talk to one another, we had to figure things out. When life is good…why communicate, there is no need, everyone has what they need. I actually find the hard times a blessing to steer us back on course, to help us navigate the rough waters. When things are rough…we need one another. When things are easy, we don’t need anyone.

As a part of our daily routine, we start each day with a daily devotional. We are kind and considerate of one another. Each weekend we say the Rosary together. We are blessed. Why…
