Part 10 – 2021 Garden: “Harvest”

Every year we wait. Every summer our garden produces a bountiful of vegetables. Waiting is the absolute worst…yet it has its rewards

Started from seeds

Our garden tomatoes, we have been eating them, giving them away and next I may blanch them to make either a sauce or diced tomatoes. I’ll use them in stew and/or soup.

Harvesting
Homegrown starts

We are new to starts from seeds. Several years ago when we decided to do a garden we bought our garden plants from a nursery. We have been doing that every year until this year we decided to experiment with seed starts.

Plant Start

There is such a satisfaction to go to your garden and pick the vegetables you need. Growing successfully is an accomplishment. This year our green beans did ok. We feel as though our marigolds took off and dwarfed our green beans. Lesson learned!

Stay tuned for my next series: Hydroponics
